How to Measure I dentify Uneven Areas: Start by identifying areas where the floor is uneven and requires leveling. You will need to measure the height differences in these areas to determine how much screed is needed. Measure Unevenness:Use a laser level or a traditional spirit level and measuring tape.Measure the vertical distance from the level line to the floor at various points to determine the unevenness. Record these measurements in millimeters (mm). Measure Area:Measure the length and width of the area that needs to be leveled in meters (m).Multiply the length by the width to calculate the total area in square meters (m²). Determine Mix Ratio : Decide on the mix ratio of cement to sand you will use for the screed. Common ratios are 1:3 or 1:4 (cement:sand). How to Use the Calculator Enter Unevenness Heights:For each unevenness measurement you've taken, enter the value in the "Unevenness Heights (mm)" field.Click the "Add" button after each entry. Your measurements will be displayed below the input field. Enter Total Area:In the "Area (m²)" field, enter the total area of the space that needs screeding. Select Mix Ratio:From the "Mix Ratio (Cement:Sand)" dropdown, select the ratio you have decided to use for your screed. Calculate:Click the "Calculate" button. The calculator will display the total screed volume needed, as well as the required amounts of 20kg premix bags, cement bags, and sand volume. Reset, if Necessary:If you need to start over or make new calculations, click the "Reset" button to clear all inputs and results. Export or Print Results (Optional):Use the "Export to CSV" button to download a CSV file of your calculations for record-keeping or future reference. Use the "Print Results" button to print out the calculation results.
Tips for Accuracy Check Measurements: Double-check your measurements for accuracy, especially in larger or irregularly shaped areas.Consider Material Waste: Always account for some waste and buy a little more material than calculated to ensure you have enough.Consult Professionals: If unsure about your measurements or the type of screed required, consult a professional for advice. This calculator simplifies the process of estimating materials needed for leveling floors with screed, making your DIY or professional project planning more efficient.
