Tile of Spain presents Seating Experiments with Spanish Ceramic Tiles at Milan Design Week from 17 – 23 April 2023.

The Tile of Spain installation has been designed by Tomás Alonso and will feature tiles from 16 Spanish brands. The installation will open on 17 April at the Interni magazine space at the Università degli Studi di Milano (La Statale), in Via Festa del Perdono 7, in the Brera neighborhood.

The installation plays with the idea of using seating to create micro-spaces, microarchitectures that favour human interactions around the activity of sitting. Each of the microspaces is approached from different situations that allow experimenting with geometries developed from ceramic tiles. The seats are designed to be reused in another public or private space in the city of Milan.

The 16 Spanish companies participating in the installation are: Arcana, Argenta, Azteca, Ceracasa, Cevica, Decocer, Dune, Estudio Cerámico, Gayafores, Porcelanosa, Roca Tiles, Saloni, Tempio, Vives, Wow and ZYX.

This event is part of the Spanish tile promotional plan in Italy, co-financed by ICEX Spain Exports and Investments and ASCER, and managed by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Milan.
