How to Repair Tiles

Materials and Tools needed:

• Replacement tile(s)
• Grout
• Adhesive
• Grout sealer
• Grout spreader
• Notched trowel
• Chisel
• Hammer
• Safety goggles
• Rubber gloves

All these materials and tools are readily available at Bunnings.

Steps:

1. Safety First: Put on your safety goggles and rubber gloves.
2. Remove the Damaged Tile: Use a chisel and hammer to gently tap and break the damaged tile. Be careful not to damage the surrounding tiles.
3. Clean the Area: Once the tile is removed, use the chisel to scrape off old adhesive and grout from the area. Make sure the surface is clean and flat.
4. Apply Adhesive: Use the notched trowel to apply adhesive to the back of the new tile. Make sure to spread it evenly.
5. Install the New Tile: Position the new tile in place and press down firmly. Wipe away any excess adhesive. Allow the adhesive to dry as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Apply Grout: Once the adhesive is dry, apply grout to the joints using a grout spreader. Ensure all gaps are filled. Wipe away any excess grout.
7. Seal the Grout: After the grout has dried, apply a grout sealer to protect it from moisture and stains. Let it dry completely.
